A DMO (Destination Marketing Organisation) must comply with 58 mandatory and 30 voluntary standards to become successfully accredited, and last year ten new DMOs have been approved including Greater Houston (TX) Convention and visitors Bureau, Monterrey (Mexico) Convention and visitors Bureau and Louisiana (LA) Office of Tourism

HBAA has partnered with several organizations, including Eventia, Confex and BVEP, the goal is to expand the circle of collaborations.
"The members will be periodically visited at their offices, rather than wait for them to visit in HBBA.
We will arrange events to make discover more potential for HBAA" These are the words of Chris Parnham, newly re-elected chairman.
The criteria for membership will be decided together withall the members of the HBAA.
"The new policies are appreciated by our members, sensitive to changes and innovations." Mr. Parnham said.

This is the annual meeting for ICCA members to conduct the legally required business of the association
and to set its strategic future direction, and includes such matters as future budgets and fee levels, exclusions from membership, and voting for new members of ICCA's Board of Directors.
The market for MICE in Asia is becoming ever stronger, so it is not a surprise that the ICCA 2013 Congress will be held in Shanghai.
As cross-strait relations continue to improve, attending the Congress in Shanghai can lead to additional interest in Taiwan, which is but a short plane ride away.
Non-ICCA members who are granted Observer status are entitled to attend the General Assembly once only in order to better understand the workings of ICCA.
